I know it’s been a long time.
Just when I thought I’d be able to update as much as I can, my laptop ran into some problems in the middle of January. It just automatically shuts down while I’m in the middle of something so I had no choice but to bring it to the Apple Service Center. They had to run some diagnostic tests to determine the cause. That took a whole month. As it turned out, the laptop’s motherboard was the problem. Replacing it was really costly so it took another month to gather enough funds and place an order for a new motherboard. So the whole ordeal took 2 months and I’m just glad I finally have my laptop with me so I can catch up with a lot of things.
The funny thing about this is I got it back just when I’m finally on summer vacation from school. Nice timing, eh?
2014 was one hell of a ride for me. There were a lot of downs and struggles in my personal life but these were thankfully outnumbered by moments I’m very grateful for. Hopefully, 2015 will be way better.
I know I barely blog but I’m hoping to change that this year. I also plan to accomplish reading at least 15 books for 2015 because I already feel left behind. I haven’t read anything non-medical related ever since I started med school. It’s appalling, I know! I keep on making these excuses of not having enough time to do such things and I really want to change that. And so, here’s to making myself better and more productive this year!
For Throwback Thursday, here’s Sia‘s version of Rihanna‘s hit song, Diamonds. Most people are still not aware that Sia wrote the song (in 14 minutes!) and that Rihanna used Sia’s demo vocal as a guide. This would actually explain the similarity between Sia’s vocals in Chandelier and Rihanna’s in Diamonds.
I have never actually been a fan of Taylor Swift. That is, until now. She really seems like a cool chick and I could no longer ignore her catchy lyrics so I might as well embrace them. That said, I really like this new album of hers and it has completely taken over my life this past week. *listens to 1989 again*
